Terms of service

The agreement between you and us: what Kurzharr does and doesn’t do, plans and payment, acceptable use, your content, and the limits of our liability.

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. Details in [brackets] are placeholders.

Effective [Effective date]

1. Who we are

Kurzharr is run by [Company legal name], registration number [Company registration number], of [Registered address]. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean [Company legal name]. “You” means the person using Kurzharr.

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using the Kurzharr website and app (“the service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

Three other pages go with these terms. The Privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data. Refunds and cancellation explains how cancelling, refunds and the EU right of withdrawal work. The Risk disclosure explains the limits of what our results can tell you.

You can reach us at [Contact email].

2. What Kurzharr does — and doesn’t do

Kurzharr lets you test your own trading strategy ideas on historical market data before you risk money on them. You describe a strategy. We run it on past prices and put the result through named validation checks: pre-registration, leak audit, twin control, null info, cost realism, temporal halves, cluster inference and placebo. You get a scorecard and a verdict. Paid plans include all eight checks and the Free plan six; not every check applies to every kind of strategy.

Kurzharr is a research tool. It does not:

  • give investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or tell you whether to trade;
  • give trading signals, forecasts or predictions for any market or strategy;
  • recommend strategies, settings or products, or rank them by how much they might make;
  • place trades, connect to a broker or trading account, or hold money for you;
  • assess whether trading, or any strategy, suits your finances or goals.

Every result is a simulation on past data, and a good result doesn’t mean a strategy will make money. Read the Risk disclosure before you rely on any result.

3. Who can use Kurzharr

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
  • An account is for one person. Don’t share it or let anyone else use it.
  • Don’t open more than one account, and don’t open a new one to get around a limit or to start your trial count again.
  • Give accurate details and use an email address you control. You can’t change your account’s email address yourself yet — to change it, contact us at [Contact email].
  • Keep your password safe and don’t use it anywhere else. If you think someone else has used your account, tell us straight away at [Contact email].
  • You’re responsible for what happens under your account, unless it happens because of something we did wrong.

If you agree a separate written contract with us — for example, for a Firm plan — that contract wins wherever it differs from these terms.

4. Plans, payment and renewal

Kurzharr has a Free plan and paid options. The plans on offer, what each one includes and the current prices are on our pricing page. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout, including any tax that applies.

Subscriptions

A subscription, such as Pro, is paid monthly or yearly in advance. It renews automatically at the end of each period, and you’re charged again, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, and your paid access continues to the end of the period you’ve already paid for. Refunds and cancellation explains how.

If we change the price of your subscription, we’ll tell you before it affects you. The new price applies from your first renewal after that notice, and you can cancel before then if you don’t want to pay it.

One-off purchases

A one-off purchase, such as an Audit pass for a single strategy, is paid once and doesn’t renew. What it includes and how long it stays valid: [Audit pass terms].

Fair use

Paid subscriptions come with fair-use limits: [Pro fair-use limits]. They keep the service responsive for everyone. If your use goes far beyond them, we may contact you and limit further use until it’s back within them.

Who takes your payment

Payments are handled by [Payment provider]. You give your card details to [Payment provider] directly; we never see or store your full card number.

Depending on how our payments are set up, [Payment provider] either sells the plan to you itself as the “merchant of record” — in which case its own terms of sale also apply, and it issues your invoice, charges any tax and handles refunds — or processes the payment for us, in which case we are the seller.

Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, you keep your plan while [Payment provider] tries the payment again, and the Billing page asks you to update your card. If [Payment provider] gives up and ends the subscription, your account moves to the Free plan.

5. The Free plan

The Free plan lets you use Kurzharr at no cost, within limits. It runs fewer validation checks than the paid plans, leaves out some features, and allows a set number of runs each calendar month. Each run you submit counts once, whatever its verdict. The current limits are on the pricing page, and the Billing page shows how many runs you’ve used this month.

We can change what the Free plan includes and how much it allows.

6. Acceptable use

Use Kurzharr fairly and lawfully. In particular, don’t:

  • share your account, sell access to it, or let others use it;
  • open extra accounts to get around a limit or to reset your trial count;
  • scrape, crawl or copy the service, its data or other people’s content by automated means;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract our source code, models or data, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • overload the service, get around its limits, or disrupt it for other people;
  • probe, scan or test the service for weaknesses, or try to get around its security or access controls, without our written permission;
  • submit code — such as a custom indicator — that tries to escape, attack or misuse the environment that runs it, for example by reaching the network, reading files it shouldn’t, using excessive memory or processor time, or affecting other users;
  • upload malware, or content that is unlawful or infringes anyone’s rights;
  • use the service to break any law or regulation, including financial-market and sanctions rules;
  • use our name or your results to suggest that we recommend, verify or guarantee a strategy, a signal service or any product.

If you find a security problem, please tell us at [Contact email] instead of exploiting it.

7. Your content

“Your content” is what you put into Kurzharr: strategy descriptions and specifications, custom-indicator code, the names and settings you save, and the messages you send to our AI features.

  • You keep ownership of your content. We don’t claim ownership of your strategies or your code.
  • You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, run, analyse and display your content, only as needed to provide the service to you, to keep it secure, and to keep the records described below.
  • Make sure you have the right to submit your content. For example, don’t paste code you aren’t allowed to share.
  • If you send us feedback or suggestions, we can use them without owing you anything.

The research ledger

Every run you submit is recorded in a research ledger as a numbered trial — one for each symbol it tests. The ledger is part of the method: each scorecard shows a deflated-Sharpe figure adjusted for how many trials the account has run, so trials can’t be erased. You can’t delete individual runs, and deleting a strategy doesn’t remove its trials. If you delete your account, the ledger records stay, stored under your former account’s random ID instead of your email address, and the licence above continues for them. The Privacy policy explains exactly what stays and why.

8. AI features

Some features use an AI model: drafting a strategy from a plain-English description, answering questions about a scorecard, adapting indicator code, and flagging methodology problems in a strategy. Which ones you get depends on your plan.

  • AI output can be wrong. It can misread you, leave things out or make things up. Treat it as a draft and check it.
  • Nothing is applied without you. An AI draft changes your strategy only when you choose to apply it, and nothing runs until you submit a run yourself.
  • It isn’t advice. AI answers explain your results. They don’t recommend trades or predict performance.
  • What you send goes to our AI provider. To answer, we send your messages, and the strategy, code or results the feature needs, to Google’s Gemini API. We don’t send your name, email address or IP address with them. The Privacy policy has the details.
  • Don’t put personal information, passwords or other secrets in AI messages.

9. Market data

Results are calculated on historical market data that we get from third-party providers. The data is provided “as is”: it can contain errors, gaps, delays and adjustments, and different sources can disagree. The Risk disclosure lists the known limits of each source.

You may use market data only inside the service, for your own testing. Don’t copy, extract, resell or redistribute it, or use it to build another product. If a provider stops supplying data or changes its terms, we may have to remove markets, symbols or timeframes.

10. Our intellectual property

The service — its software, design, text, documentation, validation method, and the Kurzharr name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors. While your account is open and you follow these terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your own purposes. You get no other rights in it.

Names of other companies that appear in the service — for example, the prop-trading firms named in the prop-challenge simulator — belong to their owners. Their appearance doesn’t mean those companies endorse or work with Kurzharr.

11. Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep Kurzharr available and working well, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may pause it for maintenance, for security, or for reasons outside our control.

We improve the service over time, so features may change, be added or be removed. If a change significantly reduces what a paid plan gives you, we’ll tell you in advance. You can then end your subscription and get a refund for the part of any prepaid period you can no longer use.

12. Disclaimers

Kurzharr shows how a strategy would have behaved on past data under our assumptions. It doesn’t tell you how the strategy will behave in future, and a verdict isn’t a recommendation or a guarantee.

Nothing in the service is investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or an offer or invitation to buy or sell any financial instrument. You alone decide whether and how to trade.

As far as the law allows, we provide the service “as is” and “as available”. We don’t promise that it will meet your needs, or that results, data or AI output will be accurate, complete or free of errors.

This doesn’t affect your rights as a consumer under the law — for example, your right to a service that matches its description and works as we said it would.

13. Limits on our liability

What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited or excluded — for example, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for harm caused deliberately or by gross negligence. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that:

  • We aren’t liable for trading losses, or for any decision you make based on the service, its results or its AI output.
  • We aren’t liable for loss or damage that wasn’t reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these terms, or that you caused by breaking them.
  • If you use Kurzharr for a business, we aren’t liable to you for lost profits, revenue, business or opportunities.
  • Our total liability to you for all claims connected with the service in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us for the service in that period.

14. Suspending or closing an account

You can stop using Kurzharr at any time, and you can delete your account yourself on the Security tab of your account. If a paid plan is still running, deleting cancels its renewal first — Refunds and cancellation explains what that means for time you’ve paid for.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires us to, or if we need to in order to protect the service or other users. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll warn you first and tell you why. If we close your account when you haven’t broken these terms, we’ll refund any prepaid period you can no longer use.

What happens to an account’s data after it closes is set out in the Privacy policy. The parts of these terms that are meant to last — the licence for ledger records, the limits on liability and the governing law — continue after that.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms — for example, when the service changes or when the law does. We’ll publish the new version here with a new effective date. If a change matters to you, we’ll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you don’t agree with it, you can stop using the service and cancel before then.

16. Governing law and disputes

The law that governs these terms, and the courts that can decide disputes about them: [Governing law and courts].

If you’re a consumer, this doesn’t take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can also bring a claim in the courts there.

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at [Contact email] so we can try to put it right.

17. Your rights as an EU consumer

If you’re a consumer in the EU, you have legal rights that these terms can’t take away. They include the right to a service that matches its description and, for purchases made online, a 14-day right of withdrawal. For a digital service, that right works in a particular way when you ask to start straight away — Refunds and cancellation explains how.

18. Contact us
